Grandpa Bob and Grandma Mary

So while I was on a road trip to Évian les Bains, I stopped for a toilet break at a gas station and bumped into an adorable French couple. They were probably over 70 years old, but anyone that have eyeballs and a little bit of brain cells can see how much they are still in love. They were three of them; a guy that is probably on his early thirties, a grandpa and a grandma. Sadly I didn't get their names, so I'll call them Grandpa Bob, Grandma Mary and the younger guy, Nathan. Grandma Mary was on a wheel chair and Nathan pushed her to a picnic table for lunch. They bought tons of delicious looking foods and variety of juices. I wanted to approach them so badly (obviously not for their food) but like you know, it's rather weird and they'll probably think that I'm a little crazy. I guess Grandma Mary was slightly cold because soon after they settled down, Grandpa Bob went back to their car and bought her his jacket. He slowly put it on for her, it was exceptionally cute but thats not all though, he messaged her shoulders and smiled at her. The way they smiled at each other held so much meaning, it was to die for and I'm pretty sure I did died for a few second right there. I mean, everyone does it all the time but it's different when old couples are being all lovely to each other, because knowing the fact that they've been together for so long and still pretty much love each other like the day they first met just warmed me up inside.

And yes, I felt like a stalker because I literally starred at them for so long. So when Nathan went somewhere, leaving only Grandma Mary and Grandpa Bob at the table, the couple saw me and both of them smiled and waved at me. Those small gestures honestly brighten up my day and I'm not even being dramatic. I took a deep breath and gathered all of my courage and approached them. Yes, I did. Unfortunately, they don't speak English, but Grandpa Bob managed to asked me where I'm from and what I'm doing in the middle of nowhere. When Nathan came back, I found out that they were his girlfriend's parents and he quickly became our translator. Grandpa asked me how long I'll be staying France and we managed to have a fine conversation until I needed to go.

So after I said my goodbye and wish them a safe journey, I was back in my car and realised that I forgot to tell them something I wanted them to know. I was too awestruck by how sweet they were and I rarely could form a word. It's so sad that I will never see them again but I genuinely want to tell that how lovely they are together, not just how right they looked next to one another but how happy they were simply by being there. I honestly think that Nathan is  extremely lucky to have such an amazing role models like his future parents in law and based on how I see it, Grandma Mary and Grandpa Bob are equally blessed to have Nathan as their soon-to-be son in law too. Nathan treated the couple like his own parents and although I don't even know them on a personal level nevertheless, all of them seem particularly sincere and wholehearted. This world is so ugly. People cheat all the time. People married because of status and money, so it's very refreshing to see when two people are truly in love.

You see, everywhere you go, every journey you take, you will continue to meet all kind of people and all of them will never ever fail to teach you something. Some will teach you bad lessons, but some will teach you a great one that you will never ever forget. I'm so glad that I took the courage and approached Grandpa and Grandma. I'm sure I'd have regret it if I didn't :3

I hope that every one of you will eventually find love like this too :)
