It's crazy how melody and lyrics of a song can do to you emotions. Some songs will make you feel like you're on top of the world whereas some will make you feel so sad that you want just want to curl up into a ball and sleep for days. The songs listed below are some of those songs that make me feel the latter. They make me feel downhearted for different reasons and you may not feel the same way as I do but I hope you enjoy them anyway.
There are many ups and downs in life and this song is one of those songs that explore the downs. I guess there are many ways you can read into this song, but the way I see it is that its about a guy asking for forgiveness from his beloved person, because he realised that he made mistakes. It's about realising what went wrong, losing someone you love and ready to win them back. It's about keep trying and never giving up on someone that is so important to you. The girl is so broken though, but he is willing to prove himself and would take any risk to fix her, because he is "too in love to let it go". He's "stuck in reverse", attached to the past and couldn't move on. He has everything he wanted except for her and she's irreplaceable. He believes that as long as he keeps trying, she will eventually come around. He wants his girl to realise that by the end of the day, "light will guide you home", that there will always be someone who truly cares about her, someone that will make her laugh, lead her a shoulder to cry on and that someone is him. This song is extremely heart-breaking, yet tragically beautiful.
If you haven't watch My Last Days: Meet Zach Sobiech then you definitely should and if you have then you know exactly why this song make me sad. Zach wrote this song as a way of saying goodbye to his family and friends, inspired by his beloved girlfriend, Amy. It's amazing that someone so young as him was able to touched million of people's hearts. His outlook on life, his courage and strength were what drawn people to him and I truly respect him for that. He taught many of people about life itself, that we don't need to realise that we are dying to start living. Life is not only about us, but its also about making differences on other people's lives. He taught us that it's okay to be delusional sometimes, that it is okay to have big dream although you know you wouldn't have enough time. Obviously, I didn't know Zach on a personal level, but just by listening to this song I feel like I got to know him so well. My favourite part of this song is when he sang "We’ll go up, up, up/
But I’ll fly a little higher/ We’ll go up in the clouds because the view is a little nicer", although he knew he was dying, he still cared so much for his loved ones' feelings, he didn't want them to be miserable because heaven would be as beautiful as earth. The lyric itself was painful, yet the melody was very cheering. Hence, this song shows his good-hearted nature and so much of Zach's personalities. You'll know what I'm talking about once you really listen to it.
Whenever I heard this song it reminds me so much of someone I knew that passed away last year. We weren't close by any means, but back in the days it was rare for anyone to be nice to me, so when anyone were kind or purely being genuine, which he happened to be one of those people, I will always remember. It meant so much to me than anyone will ever realise. This song make me sad for so many reasons. The idea of knowing that someone you knew passed away was exceedingly difficult. Although I knew that even if he's still alive, we probably won't ever meet again, but knowing that he's not here anymore, that's the unbearable part. Sometime I feel like i don't even have the right to miss him.
It was not easy for me, so I couldn't imagine how hard it must be for his family and friends, what they've gone through and still going through. With out a doubt, I'm sure everyone that was lucky to enough to met him will continue to miss him dearly.
I'm sure you heard all these songs before at some point, but if you haven't then you should check them out :)
